Message from Chief Stephen Smith

On behalf of the law enforcement officers of the Viola Police Department and the Town Council, I want to welcome you to our web page.

The Viola Police Department was reactivated in 2013 to meet the growing community and travelers within the Town of Viola. The police force consists of 3 sworn members and operates in a part-time status. While our police force is small, we have extensive training and experience in traffic enforcement, domestic violence, drug enforcement, digital forensics, community policing, and criminal investigations.

We serve over 200 residents in our small community. We believe in strong community engagement and firm, but fair, enforcement of traffic laws within our jurisdiction.

Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for all Viola residents and visitors by providing professional, effective, and compassionate law enforcement services.

All requests for police reports, or motor vehicle collision reports will be charged a $25.00 administrative fee.  Request made through Lexis-Nexis, Insurance Companies, or Attorneys, are subject to the fee.

Requests for reports can be made in writing, email, or Lexis-Nexis, and addressed to the Chief of Police.

Checks can be made payable to Town of Viola, and can be mailed to :
