Notice of Solicitation of Candidates
There are two (2) positions expiring on the Viola Board of Commissioners. All positions are two (2) year terms.
Any eligible person (18 years old or older, U.S. Citizen and resident of Viola for a minimum of one year, and never convicted of a felony) interested in serving on the Board of Commissioners must submit their name in writing, postmarked no later than March 10, 2021 to:

Within seven (7) days of declaring intent to serve, as described above, each candidate must complete a Certificate of Intention and returned to the Dept of Elections as instructed at their website.
If the number of candidates exceeds the number of positions available, an election will be held Tuesday, March 30, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Viola Town Hall.
A notice will be posted on March 11, 2021 advising whether or not an election will take place.

The State of Delaware is now requiring individuals to complete an online notice. This is in addition to the Town’s prerequisites.
Please be advised that there is a new Certificate of Intention for a candidate running for municipal election. It can be found at:

Once the candidate fills out the form and clicks on the submit button the form will automatically be sent to the State Election Commissioner’s Office. However, the candidate must also print out the form, sign it, and mail the signed copy to the Commissioner’s office. This is in accordance with Title 15 Chapter 75, Section 7555(d).
